A hero passes today......

May God bless Dan as he now enjoys the most bountiful and beautiful hunting grounds we all seek.

May his family's grief be quickly overwhelmed by warm laughter at happy times.

May we as a nation forever honor the sacrifices of our military men and women.

Kudos to you, Matt, for stepping up and employing your time, energy, and skills in allowing for such a great and rewarding hunt as part of Dan's critical transition to peace.

What a treat to see his hunting season. Peace to the friends and family.

Thanks for sharing his story with us, Matt.

Went back and read that thread, hats off to you critter and condolences to Dan's friends and family.

Damn, I felt like a bastard, as I had never read this story. +1 to Jwill's comments

It made me get down on my knees & I feel pretty thankful for the time I have had with my family & friends. We all take it for granted & tend to live like we are going to live forever...

Very sorry for your's and Dan's families loss. Not sure how I missed a seven page thread like that.

Hats off to you for such an unselfish act, and congrats for showing him an awesome last season.

God Bless!

+1 on that! Just read the entire thread. The sacrifice by Dan for our country is not forgotten.

Prayers to Dan's family and to you critter for putting a smile on a young mans face that helped him get past the disease for a brief time.

Thoughts and prayers to the family. Not enough gratitude for his service, and all current and past service men and women. Looks like some great memories. Sorry for your loss.

Hard to make sense of...

Definitely puts things in perspective, and humbles a guy.

Sad to hear prayers sent to his family and friends.Critter you are a great person for what you did for this young man im sure he enjoyed the hell out of the time you guys spent together.

Thanks for taking the time to help him enjoy this last hunting season. He's taken those great memories with him to a better place.

Nice job Critter. You helped Dan do some things he wanted to do before his time was up. May God bless you and Dan's family in this difficult time. He is in a better place. God bless him for his selfless service to us and our country. What a great young man!

Thanks again everyone for your comments. Dan was definately a great person, I really enjoyed spending the time with him this fall. His last month was a real struggle for him and we are all glad he has finally found peace and not having to deal with the every day misery. He will now enjoy the plentiful hunting grounds that have awaited him.

Thank you Dan, for all youve done for your country and for letting me be a part of your last hunting season! Happy hunting! All thoughts and prayers are with your family.
