I’m not a big fan of smallies cause they don’t belong in the BWCA lakes that I fish but here are a couple of big ones that a buddy and I caught on a recent trip. We were fishing for (and catching) lake trout and walleyes but apparently the lake we were fishing has some super sized smallmouth. Both of these fish were a legit 22”. We caught others over 20” as well.

I love big smallies. I didn't realize until recently how good I had it spending my summers in the UP slaying huge ones. 18" was average and 20" wasn't uncommon. Now I'm lucky to get one bigger than 16".
