I have a friend who bought a place on Kupreanoff Island and in April he invited me to help him move and unload his things at his new place. I jumped at the chance. The first week we visited the glaciers, went halibut fishing and crab and shrimping. He actually real appreciated I am an Alaska residence. When we pull crab pods and there were 16 crabs, we got to keep them all. He would of had to throw 12 back without me. Caught my first halibut, I have never fished in saltwater before. And I don't want to, but will, ever eat frozen fish again. We cooked one on the boat within 15 minutes of catching him. oooohhhhhhhhhh haaaaaliibbbbuuuut (my best homer simpson doing bacon on the beach).

Yes I was informed that the iceburgs can flip over at anytime by more than few locals. But a couple cocktails and a silly desire to crawl on a iceburg, and I am a drunk king of an iceburg. So his stuff arrived on the barge and we spent a few days unloading. Had a little pause and King's opened early. So in the morning we go trolling for kings. I have never caught a salt water fish until the halibut but within 5 minutes of trolling I hook up and spend 10 minutes reeling this 17 pound king in. (Its the one I shared in plate em up).

So much fun. So much easier than chasing dall sheep, elk and moose! And so incredibly delicious. So to end this little fish story, I am down here for the summer to help build my friends new log cabin. We are going to drop the trees and also mill a lot of the wood to finish the inside. I am thinking of starting a thread in fireside about the timeline of the build with pictures (it will be real creative, I have built a lot of homes for folks in top 5 percent). But anyway I am going back to Fairbanks in the fall with lots of fish!
They hate the sea lions here, I don't why?
