Never thought it needed more if used responsibly woth in its limits. I was a hater. Then one day at the range I shot a buddies. It was a joy to shoot. Repeatedly. I then sat with a buddy. He shot a buck with it. Handed me the gun and a couple hours later I shot one as well. At 250yds. Bang flop. Since then I have purchased several of my own and shot a bunch of deer with it. Hands down the only rifle I deer hunt with that I would put the butt on my nose and pull the trigger. Zero kick. Hand it to a kid. No problem. I am sure there is other calibers that do the same. This is just the one I discovered for myself. I will not be shooting the + peak at this point. No need

I have a 6.5 creedmoor, I was thinking about getting a 7 PRC or 300 PRC. In California for deer and bear my 127gr Barnes LRX should be enough. The extra umph with this going to peak + will be nice. I am interested in the peak+ Berger 156 and the other 155 grain coming out also. Curious to see what folks thoughts were on using those two with elk. I know shot placement and velocity is key. I don’t plan on shooting past 300-400 yards. I know I am pretty dialed in at 300.

Anyone who likes the 6.5x55 should like the Creed, but people get too wrapped up in chamber design and who sells what. Didn’t really need more, but glad it got more.

Are you able to use Bergersin CA? I thought the whole state was non toxic.

I think the Nas3 cases are cool. I have been trying to decide if I want to get into loading them. If I didn't load i would be all over these peak + cases.

I have 2 6.5 CM and have killed pronghorn to elk with them with no real issues. With a very mild load I made for my wife. But extra speed is always a plus to me.

I am interested in using it on elk out of state potentially with the 155-156. I already like shooting the 120 cx Hornady superformance and the Barnes LRX 127 gr currently in California. I was just a little worried I would need to buy another rifle. I really do like my 6.5 though

Gotcha. Tbh i dont think the 6.5 CM is the best around Cartridge but i wouldn't worry about buying a different gun for elk. 6.5 cm will kill them just fine.

I would agree. It’s just very versatile for my needs. Realistically I want a 300 PRC or 7mm backcountry but I can get that down the road and put it on the back burner for now

Don't get me wrong I'm all for buying another gun in fact I may need to slow down. I think my gun aquirements have kept me from buying more tags in adjacent states.

Yeah I mean I’d like to get out there a little more first. I’m still pretty green
