6.5 Creedmoor +Peak Poll

What are your thoughts on the Federal high pressure 6.5 Creedmoor +Peak Ammo

  • 6.5 Needmore got more

  • Still not a 6.5-300 Weatherby

  • I'll keep my 6.5 PRC

  • I'll keep my (anything but 6.5 anything here)

  • It's still not a RUM of any type - for those specific fans

Never thought it needed more if used responsibly woth in its limits. I was a hater. Then one day at the range I shot a buddies. It was a joy to shoot. Repeatedly. I then sat with a buddy. He shot a buck with it. Handed me the gun and a couple hours later I shot one as well. At 250yds. Bang flop. Since then I have purchased several of my own and shot a bunch of deer with it. Hands down the only rifle I deer hunt with that I would put the butt on my nose and pull the trigger. Zero kick. Hand it to a kid. No problem. I am sure there is other calibers that do the same. This is just the one I discovered for myself. I will not be shooting the + peak at this point. No need

I have a 6.5 creedmoor, I was thinking about getting a 7 PRC or 300 PRC. In California for deer and bear my 127gr Barnes LRX should be enough. The extra umph with this going to peak + will be nice. I am interested in the peak+ Berger 156 and the other 155 grain coming out also. Curious to see what folks thoughts were on using those two with elk. I know shot placement and velocity is key. I don’t plan on shooting past 300-400 yards. I know I am pretty dialed in at 300.

Anyone who likes the 6.5x55 should like the Creed, but people get too wrapped up in chamber design and who sells what. Didn’t really need more, but glad it got more.
