Sorry, I was totally focused on random draws. I've drawn several OIL tags in various states over the last 15 years, but all preference based. I have drawn zero random tags during those 15 years. My statement omitted that.

I quit making donations for the ones with odds below .0002% or with 90% of the tags auctioned. That left four. And if I can ever burn my elk points on some low tier archery unit, I'll promptly walk the following year.

A bit surprised that I actually drew an Abajo Mtns archery general deer tag with 1 point, as it has been taking 3+ in recent years. So I guess that's better than a poke in the eye with a stick.

Damn sir, nice haul.
I have a buddy here in Durango with no less than a sheep and goat tag this year! Talk about OIL. I will be helping with those.
But, I will also be traveling back and forth during the general buck season (archery) for the La Sals, same season dates. If you need help and DIY, PM me.

To everyone who drew this year, you are welcome! I am one of the many who bowed out this year.

Utah still has amazing animals and is definitely still worth pursuing but thankfully we have enough opportunity these days with the kids hunting. It's hard for me as I sit in my house and see Utah less than a mile away. Also, the elk tag there is now almost as much as the moose I just drew in Idaho.

Opened the email last night with the expectation of rejection. See the word successful for LE Elk but then I feel panicked I messed up my app. Followed by sheer shock and excitement that I drew! Now the excitement and slight nervousness this morning as I plan. If anyone is willing to share their experience I'm open but not asking for pins or handouts.
