2025 Garden!

This zucchini plant went from looking great, like the one to the right to this in a 24 your period. Any ideas on what happened?

Green beans have been a struggle this year. I've replanted some sections 3 times. A buddy of mine who always has a nice big garden struggled to get his going. Too cold and wet we think. Finally got some this evening.

Harvest Day. First broccoli pick. Strawberries are near the end. Wife has enough for another batch of jam. Last of the pie cherries. We’ll have a cherry pie for the fourth. Peas are starting. English and snap. English will explode in a few days. Artichoke hearts we canned a few days ago.

I am jealous of you all. Due to rain and tiller issues, I didn’t get my garden in until the first week of June. My wife did get to eat her first cucumber today, but everything else is going to be a while.

Me too. Quit showing off. LOL I've got zucchini coming on big time. Green tomatoes waiting and waiting for the first one.
Cucumbers are starting to run and some blooming.
Having problems with aphids in my peppers.
So all I do is water and weed and wait.

Just remember the price we pay for having long growing seasons is no elk, mule deer, antelope, goats, sheep, etc...

One of my beehives is working hard this year when they aren’t chasing me. I had put a fourth box on the hive a while ago and they hadn’t touched it. Check two weeks ago had bees in it but no work. I checked last week, and all the frames had been built and were full of a light honey. Frames weren’t capped so I left the box alone.

I had a very strong intuition that it might be clover honey. My yard has a white frost on it right now with thousands of bees working the clover.

I checked the bees today and the frames were full and capped on the big hive. I decided to take the box.

It is a very light, mild honey. I assume it’s clover but no honey is pure. I’m not sure it’s as good as the “normal” honey we gather but it’s interesting.

I’ll give some jars to my neighbors to try to keep them happy with my shenanigans.
