Ahh shoulder seasons, back when it was just a bad idea we all fought it.

If you shoot an elk in February, it's like getting 2 for 1!

I was driving home sun afternoon after hiking my butt off tracking a bull that I spooked out its bed with no shot in a place I really didn't want to kill an elk anyway. On the way in I was contemplating which shoulder season to start with.. when I ran into a rancher with a bunch of elk on his field an no one to shoo them off. When asked if I would help I said sure....10min later



and it was banded!!! 1st elk band. LOL

I spent a grand total of 1 afternoon looking for an elk. The rest of it I spent on deer.

It was a lot of fun and my tag soup recipe is approved by Anthony Bourdain.

I didn't shoot anything.

I am going to become a vegetarian and grow a man bun while drinking pumpkin spice lattes and wearing skinny jeans.

Not sure if the man bun reconciles with the jodphurs. I suppose anything is possible with you fashionistas.
