Looking for some advice. My dad gave me his Winchester 255 22 Magnum that he bought 55 years ago.

To honor the heritage, I’d like to put a scope on it that would have been a good scope in 1971. I’d like it to be a good enough scope to still use for squirrel hunting (what my dad bought it for in 1971).

My research says that either a Weaver K4 or Leupold M8 in 4x32 would answer the mail.

Perhaps this is a dumb question, but are there vintage rings available too? The rifle has the old 3/8 dovetail.

Any other options I am missing? I’d also be interested in buying something off of one of you instead of rolling the dice on eBay so let me know if you have one to part with.

I dont know how I got on their mailing list and can't speak to there service but I'd check out vintagegunscopes.com

Was thinking the same thing and was just on their site. They have a Lyman All American 6X that looks pretty nice. They also list a Leupold M8 4X.
