Anyone Use a Savage 99?

Have my Great Uncles made in1952,Model 99 in .300 Savage,passed down to my Dad,and now to me. Gonna give it to my Grandson this year for Deer hunting.

Has anyone shot 165 grain ammo for the 300 Savage? I’m thinking about trying this. I have factory ammo in 150 & 180 grain, but have never found 165 grain.

I loaded some 165 accubond's. My rifle didn't seam to care for any accubond really. Unless there's some there's some old old loaded stuff out there from years gone by. Double Tap and Choice Ammo is all that I'm aware of loaded with nything 165.
