I know that the Tonto National Forrest is closed right now, so you should probably call AZGF for some info for when it is supposed to reopen. If you know he's hanging up, and he hasn't thrown out a nervous grunt hit him with it first. That call will give him a tiny bit more confidence that you're another elk and come in a little further to investigate. -

The cool thing about the AZ deer tag is that it is good for either a mule deer or coues. So if your going after coues and see a nice muley you can take him. -

Turkey Behavior Question (Eastern)
Had the same type of thing happen to me in Kentucky a couple years ago, in my situation it turned out that the Toms were with the hens all day even going to the nest with them. It kept on tell about a week and half later and they started breaking off from the hens mid day.- Mtolliver
