    Cameron Hanes

I know a lot of blokes who hunt way more then him on the self guided front each year that certainly don't put it out there like he does. He isn't anything special, the guy just has good motivation and resilience to get into the backcountry. On the positive side he can only be good for hunting...

    KUIU Gear

Why pay for over priced camo clothing? Just research and build your system around merino layers, a good mid weight that's wind proof an outer shell that's water proof and a down jacket for the cold days to go under that outer shell. Pants are very hard to get right, but hiking brands often...

    Long lost SFC B!!

Plenty of nearby countries and hunting options to consider before you fly home. A swagger of affordable options from roe deer, muntjac, chinese water deer, boars, red stags, boar, bears, fallow deer, chamois, mouflon....your right in the thick of it there and with a little research you can find...

    Trigger pull weight

Agree with above, 2lbs for me is ideal and far greater then a heavier pull. One my LR gun it is at 1.5lb. No way can i hold steady with those big heavy long trigger pulls on factory rifles. Short, sharp and no creep is ideal.

    Swarovski EL Range

Superb optic, i don't like those big square bumps under the optic. A few lads have had swaro and then sold them and gone the new leica range bins. Can't go wrong with either, leica range a bit further, optic wise, I've compared them a few times in the field and i struggle to see the...

    Idaho Elk

Good luck. Yep the more effort you put in on a forum and the more you contribute the more likely you are able to gain friendships and make people feel like your not just another bloke wanting to be instant friends with everybody and bleed information to then disappear and never be seen again...

    Book Cliffs Muley partner request

Good luck, ran plenty of cougars around in those hills late in the year. When there was lots of snow i never had an issue finding good mule deer to look at. Pretty easy country if you ask me. Get off the roads, look for basins and valleys that you can't glass from tracks or easy access, hike...

    my roar for reds

Nice pics, love that type of country. Maybe if you can, it might be neater to go into your post on the other forum, open it to edit it, and cut and copy any words and URL links to photo bucket, and then just paste it into here as a new post. Pretty straightforward and saves guys going to...

    Tikka T3

Something a few of the lads are doing with their tikka t3's over here is removing the recoil pad and filling the inside of the cheap plastic stock with expander foam, it apparently helps with absorbing recoil and maybe a whisker of weight adding to the weapon. Not a bad idea and i wouldn't...

    Mouflon or Ibex

moulfon are great fun to hunt. Hunted them in the forests of Europe and will go back again this year for another run at them. Hawaii be a blast to do self guided, would like to get the kids over there one year when they are old enough and take them for a look around. Lanai sounds like the...

    Berger 215 Hybrid

Shooting the 190gr Berger VLD Hunting out of my .300wsm and have shot a lot of large game on all angles with them. Ive deliberately taken quartering on shots and directly going away angles to see their performance and yep i can say I'm happy enough to use them for our deer over here, including...

    Tikka T3

Mine are in calibre's i don't need recoil pads for. However i did buy some limbsavers for my sako 75's and from memory on the box it said they fitted the T3's as well, would need to check to be certain. You could always put some rubber or grind some plastic to give you another .5 or 1cm...

    Tikka T3

There is a reason why they are the best selling rifles in NZ, superb value for money, incredibly accurate, throw a limbsaver on the end to give you a bit more lop and assistance with reducing recoil and your all sorted. Couldn't think of a better rifle in this price range to put a quality scope...
