05 Missouri whitetails

Antler restriction question

elk meat question
I have always heard how good and tender elk meat is. Well the one I have in the freezer is tougher than boot leather. I had it cut 3/4 thick. Is that to thick? Even the chops are tough. They taste fine but we can't chew the damn thing. If I can't get it tenderized the next step is to grind all... -

One less doe in Mo.
Was bow hunting last night when a big barren doe and another doe with two fawns come in. I didn't want to shoot at first, but they would not leave. Finally the big doe offered a good shot at 30 yards, drove the arrow in her neck through her heart. She ran maybe ten yards before she crashed. So... -

Killed another one
Tuesday night had about 25 birds coming in to roost. Had a hen at 20 yards but no shot then I had a tom fly up to roost right above my head. 10 yard shot, drove the arrow along his neck and right out his arse. He fell off of the limb and never moved. He had a 10 inch beard and 1 inch spurs did...- gar man

Idaho bull down
Well we finally made it back. Score sheet is 1 bull green score 306 4/8. 5x6 come in bugling shot at 50 yards. 1 mule deer 4x2 and 1 bear. Should have pics up tommorow and full details tomorrow as well. Great trip and I will be in Idaho next year. -

O.K. Things are slowing down in here. So has anybody been on or around wilson or puddin mountain in Idaho (unit 27)? If so what was the area like? Was there any elk? Does that area hold many elk? How about the deer and bear population?
