Dates aren't an issue
Over the counter ...we have no preference points.
Meat and horns... any would be a trophy for us greenhorns.
Budget-???? The place we're looking is 3k guided for a week +1K tags...Thought it seemed steep but after snooping around...
Hey ya'll.
Buddy and I are talking about an Archery Elk/Mulie hunt for 2006.
He's been looking at Trail creek Lodge in Big Timber but man it seems awfully expensive.
Figured you westy boys could point a Michigan boy in the right direction.
Any solid outfitters built for archery hunt in...
Hi Roufus...
That site you listed has a great source.

Before that...maybe even take the time to read the bow selection guide.

In a nutshell there are pros and cons to...
Rangefinder if you can afford one.hump
If you have the option of doing some local 3D shoots that always helps as well. That game is about 75% yardage estimation and 25% shooting. Helped me a lot.
Rip cord is a good rest. Total capture is always nice but the plastic launcher, as stated, couold be an issue. it odes have a "locked up" setting that has to be tuned just right or it won't drop though. I could see this getting ugly on a siongle cam with a moderate string stretch....never heard...
Never tried the Sonics but theoretically the Wac em is going to do better just do the angles of the blade.
I tried them last eyar as well and they are a damn fine head. Tough as nails, razor sharp and like Bo said...they fly right with my field tips out to 50-60 and 70 never missing a beat...
The older Dual cams were always (well not ALWAYS but mostly) more efficient. The singles have a place as their a bit quieter and aren't as suceptable to the sync and timing problems the older duallys had.
Newer string materials have come a long way though and tying the top and bottom cams...
Winners Choice are one of the biggest and probably the best known. many of their newer strings have the X coat which is extremely durable but a pain to seperate for reserving or addition of a drop away cable etc.
Lots of other newer name in the market though too...
Vapor Trail
Wolf Den
GASS...
Nemont....that's a very nice hotel.
Like to eat realy really good food? Check out Janos and J-bar...same complex as the Westin there. Janos Wilder is the owner and a friend of mine. He can cook.
Damn near a man now. Makes me feel old:o
How's the fishin' down there anyway Nut? I've been threatening to get down on the Maumee but haven't had the time yet. Runnin' good now?
I have them on a couple arrows and like them. Durable, smaller and lighter...what more could you ask for?
I agree with Acon and will add that the QS are MUCH more expensive. Too expensive for ashard as I am on arrows
Acon...you frequent Impact in Clovis?
I don't use a stabilizer for stabilization in a hunting situation. I useit to quiet my bow, suck up any vibes and handshock and hold my sling on:D
The AR I shoot have the riser tapped all down the back to accomodate the little Sims modular stabilizer thingys. I use one in front with a small...
This is pretty technical but if your anything like me it's nice to print it and leave it in the bathroom. Interesting read for sure.

One that has made the biggest impact in my neck of the woods is In line Muzzleloaders.
Still called a "primitive Season" here but these shoot 2-4 times as far and more accurate than the Slug Guns that we're limited to during the regular "gun season".
I have a buddy that shoots one Ultimate...
I hit one like that 2 weeks ago Gato.
I shot open and they tore me UP. 40-50-60 yard shots were teh AVERAGE and thread the needle, lay on the ground, kneel down and...it was like a game of twister trying to find a shot while touching the stake:eek:
I got to the end and found out what was...
Turbo Nocks??
I've been messing with them for a year or two now but the biggest benefits are lost on my style of hunting.
Anyone use them or try them??
