Hey ya'll.

Buddy and I are talking about an Archery Elk/Mulie hunt for 2006.

He's been looking at Trail creek Lodge in Big Timber but man it seems awfully expensive.

Figured you westy boys could point a Michigan boy in the right direction.

Any solid outfitters built for archery hunt in your neck of the wood?

Thanks in advance.

Where?

What state?
Early/late season/specific dates?
draw or over the counter?
Meat or horns or trophy?
Rough budget?
Guided or just outfitted?
Both elk and mulie or either or?
How much time you got to spend in the woods?

Any one of Montana, Wyoming, Colorado

Dates aren't an issue

Over the counter ...we have no preference points.
Meat and horns... any would be a trophy for us greenhorns.

Budget-???? The place we're looking is 3k guided for a week +1K tags...Thought it seemed steep but after snooping around some more it seem pretty reasonable.

Either or I guess...I'd like Elk even if only a cow.

1 week hunt.

Why don't you just pack your camping gear and come to Idaho for the last week of Sept? Over the counter tags for either sex elk and mule deer. Decent weather and no real need for an outfitter.

Kelly-I've done a fair bit of guiding in and around my other businesses. So, I do have a couple of fairly good connections here in Montana.

Are you still looking for a hunt, I do some work with a Outfitter from central Montana on a private ranch hunt that would/could be worth your time to take a look into.

Let me know if I can help you.
