Yosemite sow remains with dead cub for more than 6 hours

Sad indeed. I wonder how long the Ranger waits to move the dead cub (in most other cases anyway). It seems as protective as a mother bear is toward her young, if a Ranger attempts to move it too soon, he may become the victim of a bear attack. I'm sure the sow senses the danger that the cub is in, especially with a human present, then sees a human close to or handling her cub. That could turn real ugly real quick.
