Myself and another hunt talker are planning on heading to Wyoming for a spring bear hunt this year. This would be our first bear hunt and I was wondering if anybody could point us in the right directiion as far as what part of the state would give us the best chance of a successful hunt?

I am not asking for your honey holes/specific drainage location or basic information that is readily available on Wyoming G+F website like many newbies on HT.

The research I have done looks like the highest concentration of bears are around Yellowstone/Teton NP and the Bighorns being second. We were hoping to hunt Casper mountain, Snowy Range, or Sierra Madre to save some drive time but that may be a mistake. Please shoot me a PM. Any help would be appreciated and thanks in advance for your time.

I hunted them last year in the Spring around Big Piney with no luck. I did not set out any bait, just spot & stock. About the only thing I saw was poop & prints. It was my first time to try, so to me it was a good hunt just to get out. Without local knowledge its a tough hunt. Good Luck & God Bless.

I saw alot of bear sign in one place in the Sierre Madres while elk hunting. Its definitely not spot and stalk country though
