Group of 3 non- residents got drawn for general buck tag. Been looking really hard at unit 92 and 128. I called Wyoming biologist Stan Harter and spoke to him about some general areas like sweetwater bridge and working the mountains up to wilderness. Been doing a lot of e- scouting on onX and trying find a good place to setup base camp. Anyone with some good pointers of the area. You can pm me if you wish. I’ve never hunted the area and understand the harsh winter kill offs. However, we just want to hunt some muleys. Thanks.

Heading to unit 92 next Saturday. Can’t wait to see the unit and learn it in a couple of days prior before season. I’m sure it will be a tough hunt but going to do our best and see how it turns. Either way I’m sure we’ll have a blast. Will post our trip results and experience. Good luck to all!

Had a great trip, and saw some beautiful country. Met a few local old timers, and exchanged great stories. I know lots of peeps don’t like sharing units and data, but I will tell you this was a tough hunt for mule deer. Lots of small bucks and finding the big bucks took some time. Working remote areas, covering lots of terrain, and sore feet from hiking. I did have success on opening day and took advantage. We did get some cold weather, rain, and snow. Got some bucks moving around and missed a couple nice bucks. However, that’s hunting and a learning experience. Saw lots of wildlife, bald eagles, moose, elk, deer, and antelope. Overall, we had a blast and can’t wait for next year.

Hunting trips are always a blast. The adventure, exchanging stories, camp talk and just being in the field. That makes hunting so much fun and longtime memories. Tagging out is icing on the cake.

Thanks for checking back in with your hunt update. Congratulations on what sounds like an awesome hunt!

Awesome hunt and all about getting out hunting period!!!...thanks for sharing!!
Your welcome. Yeah you’re right. Just being out hiking around, camping, hunting, viewing beautiful country, and great company to share the memories. Makes the hunting trips great!

Totally agree...so many times as the sun rises and sets, glassing the high country thi nking...so many people have no idea!

My brother, my buddy and I all drew general season tags for region L this fall. We are looking into units 92,94 but more so focusing on 92. What was hunting pressure like for you? What would you say was key to you having success on that beautiful buck

The pressure was not bad. Hunters here and there but overall not bad. Lot of road hunters so plan on finding areas with very little roads and glass. I put my cousin on three nice 4x4’s after the storm but didn’t workout. Best advice is hunt early morning and evening. The bucks come out of the heavy timber. I just got lucky on a 10am buck. I would go back again if drawn. Beautiful place!
