Point creep is hitting the cow tags too, it would seem.

Timing is everything. I couldn’t hunt last year and had a full hunt schedule by May last year. Bought points to stay ahead of the creep and hunt when it worked best for me and my familyHere is what I find really interesting: Of the 1666 tags issued in the regular price draw based on points for S and W, 762 of them were issued to point holders that could have drawn the tag in either of the previous two draws with 100% chance. So why jump in now and get the tag rather than 2 years ago? That is almost half of the tags that "costed more points than required"
I got lucky and drew a bighorn ewe tag.Pretty safe bet you'll just be poor...
So looking at the draw results I had 0% chance in the random on the moose tags that I applied us for. Guess I need to get better at figuring out how the splits work since there ended up only being 1 random tag for nonresidents this year compared to 3 last year. Guess the quotas went down. Just lit a match to $150 of credit card fees essentially.

Turns out I'm not bankrupt or poor - in fact, I'm feeling pretty rich right about now. Life is good. Nothing beats sheep hunting!
I know of several people with more than enough points that are putting in with family/friends with less points to draw as a group. Maybe that's what's going on with some of those. Here is what I find really interesting: Of the 1666 tags issued in the regular price draw based on points for S and W, 762 of them were issued to point holders that could have drawn the tag in either of the previous two draws with 100% chance.
