My buddies and I drew 19-1 Muddy Mountain. We drew with a 7.5 point average.

I put my wife in for that tag with the change. Back when it was 5 point restriction we tried to get the tag because we had found on a previous trip an area with accessible elk but there was limited snow. If there was snow that time of year it would have been rough. Wish you the best and looking forward to hearing about it!7-2 for me. Should be a fun challenge. Could have had the west general easily so rolling the dice on this one.
Awesome!Whoa! I drew a ewe tag. I love hunting sheep.
Congrats to the other winners.
Hope the weather cooperates for ya, that unit is the only place I've ever gotten stuck, had my license checked, and was told exactly where the elk were on public all in one sequence.7-2 for me. Should be a fun challenge. Could have had the west general easily so rolling the dice on this one.
U and roughly 350 other people made this mistake and increased my chance by probably 20-30% so thank you very muchSo looking at the draw results I had 0% chance in the random on the moose tags that I applied us for. Guess I need to get better at figuring out how the splits work since there ended up only being 1 random tag for nonresidents this year compared to 3 last year. Guess the quotas went down. Just lit a match to $150 of credit card fees essentially.
I abandoned 18 moose points. Zero opportunity to justify burning $$ on more points. Even though burning cash on points is my avid hobby across the west, that one stood out as absurd. So looking at the draw results I had 0% chance in the random on the moose tags that I applied us for. you could have got a cow moose tag with those this draw instead!I abandoned 18 moose points. Zero opportunity to justify burning $$ on more points. Even though burning cash on points is my avid hobby across the west, that one stood out as absurd.
Yes. I abandoned sheep and moose points and hadn't been applying in the random because the first year there weren't any random then last year there was a single random sheep and 3 random moose so I applied even without points in the random. I will need to do the math next year once the quotas come out. This year I just looked at GoHunt and didn't see any alarm bells on the ones I applied for since they showed having a random last year. Kind of an expensive mistake but it won't happen again.I abandoned 18 moose points. Zero opportunity to justify burning $$ on more points. Here is what I find really interesting: Of the 1666 tags issued in the regular price draw based on points for S and W, 762 of them were issued to point holders that could have drawn the tag in either of the previous two draws with 100% chance. So why jump in now and get the tag rather than 2 years ago? That is almost half of the tags that "costed more points than required"Yikes, it’s getting tough out there to get bull tags, West General tag was 6 points in the regular draw, 4 points in the special. 4156 NR applicants for the West General that didn’t draw, quite a log jam. 10% odds in the random. No real solution for it either, there’s just more people that want to hunt than there is game available.
