when are they drawing for deer tags this year??i'm dying to see if I drew my tag.Suppose to be a great area for big buck that flies under the radar according to biologists out there.Hoping to improve greatly on my Mt. buck from last year.My partner will shoot 1st one he sees but I plan to look a few over
if odds are same as last year I'll draw

It will probably be sometime during the last week of the month, so we're getting close. With the number of tags that were cut in some areas, if the same number of people put in for those areas as they did last year, the odds of drawing will be tougher. Good luck!

Every year results are out the first week in July. Plan on checking around July 4th.

That's not really correct. The website says June 30th, which is a Saturday, so it will be before that. Results are always posted a few days before the date shown in the application booklet, so we're looking at sometime between 6/25 and 6/29. Also, they always give a day or two advance notice on the website as to when the results will be available, so I'd start looking at the website next Monday.

Yep! Kudos to the G&F as they are way ahead of the normal schedule this year. Less than 24 hours and we'll know who's going hunting! Good luck to everyone who is in the draw.

I'm not familiar with unit 60 and 113. Your unit 125 deer choice has gone from about 1 in 3, to 1 in 4 to 1 in 5 chances the last three years, which is weird because all the scuttlebutt from my friend's buddies that live out there is that quality has really gone down the last 5-7 years unless you can get on a ranch on the south end of the unit. They say the best of the public areas to the south are getting hammered even with the limited number of tags given out because the deer are very limited in a big percentage of the unit. I helped that friend on his hunt several years ago and he shot a buck the first morning that we misjudged and he wasn't what John wanted on that tag since he had a number of decent bucks he was trying to better. It was one of those deals where we thought we got a good look at him at first light at a distance and John only had one opening he went through following a doe at a little over 300 yards. John made a great shot and there was considerable ground shrinkage when we got there, but that's hunting. I can't remember the number of tags issued in previous years, but I see this year it's 125 and I imagine that's fewer than previous years the way they have cut tags in most areas this year.

I put in for unit 53 for antelope knowing I wouldn't draw it so I could get my second choice tag and keep my point
