Made it out for the first day of bird hunting, hens are legal in this unit so it made things a little easier. As usual I always take my grandfather's Wingmaster out instead of my newer, fancier shotguns. I love that gun and refuse to have it collect dust. My grandpa use to love to bird hunt and received that shotgun from my mother as a bday gift in 1976. She bought it new for him and it's knocked down it's share of birds, and will continue to do so as long as I'm able to hunt. He can't hunt anymore due to health reasons, but I can literally hear his smile on the phone each and every time I let him know that the old gun filled another daily limit. Saw lots of birds and very thankful that the state of Wyo puts so much effort into the bird habitat. Lots of hunting still to do but looking forward to hearing more roosters cackle and hearing this old wingmaster bark in Wyo, Kansas and South Dakota! Birds beware!

Awesome work.

Keep that wingmaster swinging. You'll never shoot it out. I shoot my dad's old guns and now that he's gone, it's a great, if bittersweet, way to keep the connection alive & thriving. I can feel him smiling when I connect on something with one of his guns.

Nice!!!Went out Saturday here in Pa and took one rooster behind my dog. It's was absolutely crazy out here though and after 2 fields,I took me,my boys and my dog home.I was getting peppered by shot a few times, another guy had someone raise up on his dog.For safety reasons we went home. Will try again tomorrow or Friday.Weekends out here are just insane
Do they stock certain areas in Wyoming or are there wild birds??Looks like you had a great day and without a dog is impressive

It can be like that where he was.

And those a pen-reared birds. We have some wild birds, but they are VERY few and far between.

These were all stocked birds, it's a permit draw hunt and can become a mad house at times. I've got one more permit hunt to go so we'll see if I can avoid getting peppered as well. The state also stocks birds in walk in areas, so it makes for a fun season. The walk in areas are no where near as busy. I actually did hunt with a few dogs, a couple gentleman saw me drinking my coffee alone before we could hunt and invited me to hunt with them. Hunting behind dogs makes it 10x better, I'll get a dog soon so I can avoid hunting solo.

That old wingmaster is incredible, I don't think it'll ever quit. I even took it with me on a few trap shooting tournaments this summer as well as league shoots. Makes things interesting with a full choke, but I did manage to shoot well enough with it to avoid buying beer for the team. (Low score always buys the first round)

Excellent.

Our trap team's deal is everyone buys high score's lunch. I like yours better. (Especially since I have a 2 handicap) :)
