No argument starting. They both were going for the ball, both focused on the ball. Not to start an argument but how was that NOT a red card, studs gown down the calf and achilles and bend the ankle 90 degrees, then step on it. It was not intentional, but intent has nothing to do with it
What a great soccer game. Those dont happen often in this horrible sport lolWow, just wow.
Try to win, or be happy to get to penalties?
That i can buy. I used to teach refs, assess refs and ref at a decently hight level. Cards, especially red, at this level are a game management tool. Sure some are 100% required like Violent conduct (occurs away from the ball) and denies obvious goal opportunity, but this one, while "red card worthy" when looked at as a single action, was not needed in the scope of managing the game. A yellow and public ass chewing probably would have been ok. So IMO it was justified, but not needed to manage that gameNo argument starting. They both were going for the ball, both focused on the ball.
Absolutely looked painful, but the player resumed play. If it wasn't clearly intentional, I feel like the terms of a red card are pretty extreme.
