Ruger Discontinues many models

On another forum someone claimed Rugar plans to bring back most of these models. They are trying to sell off inventory of other models. Whether this is accurate information or not I cannot say.

Since Bill died it's been all lawyers and accountants at Ruger.
Once the most Joe Everyman company on earth.

All my Rugers came to me as ugly ducklings that cleaned up VERY well if you gave them love.

Well let’s be rational. The SP101 and the GP100 have shelf lives somewhere between 500k and 1M rounds before they remotely need a rebuild.

So yeah, they’ve saturated the market with enough hardware to last several millennia.

It’s no wonder they are scaling back some production.

That's immediately where my mind went also. Where as everyone is going to need another American in 5-10 years.

I'm glad I bought this Hawkeye Compact last winter while they were still available.

Agreed.

I'll never wear out my GP100. I have 40 more rounds out of 100 of some old Winchester 180 grain Silver Tips. Its gotten about 200 rounds of full load 158 XTP's, and a lot of 38 special. Going forward, I'll mostly load 125 grain in .357 at moderate pressures. It will eat a lot of those before I run into problems.

Even my LCP. The life before stuff starts to wear is 1500. I have 500 down the bore and shoot about 60 a year currently.

My 10/22 is turning into a project anyway.
