Woodworking Hunt Talkers?

So I need a stand up desk and my neighbor needed to get rid of a 12' 2"x12", so I cut it down to 4', edge glued it and made breadboard ends out of some beetle-kill pine I bought from a saw mill in the Black Hills of South Dakota.

I am super excited about how it turned out and I can't wait to start using it. Only problem is that the standing desk leg mechanism I could have bought 3 weeks ago is now out of stock...

We build a house a week, I got tired of my phone being filled with pictures of finished houses like 5 years ago, but I have a couple quick snapshots still buried in my phone.
The camper we got for $300 from a tow yard. I gutted the old rotten walls and insulation, dumpster dove at work for scrap insulation and filled the walls really well with Free scraps and paid the $60 a sheet for cdx plywood. This is after two weekends, the whole thing has been gone over now, from new flooring tile removed the whole shower and sink from the bathroom to have more room, to new handles on the drawers. Even punched our own new ViN and had to get it checked off by the PD. So that’s a 2020 TERRY!

A coworker and buddy of mine died in a car accident right in front of me on a payday in July of 2020. I’m still bothered how few pictures I have of him. I try to take quick pics of the buds when we’re having a good day at work. You never know when that’s the only way you’ll see them again.
RIP James “Silky” Wilkie.

I finally made the plaque to mount my 2020 buck.

You can read about that hunt and see the steps I took to make the plaque here

I started with this

And this

And I ended up with this

The cherry wood came from a downed branch right near where I shot the buck.

I finally finished my bow rack. I've had this beetle kill pine sitting around in my garage for about 8 years. SO glad to have it up on the wall.

I still have a few pieces of the pine left, but they are smaller so they don't take up too much space. Might try to turn something on the lathe.
I like how you matched the knots on the two vertical pieces. A lot of people wouldn't have taken the time to do that.

I nearly messed that up. I was laying them out to mark up the holes for the pegs and it didn't look right, but I couldn't figure out why. I spent a long time trying to figure out what was wrong. I'm glad I didn't just push past the thought and start drilling.

I've had this flag since my BIL got back from Afghanistan 10 years or so ago. My dad told me he was making a box for it. Didn't know he was breaking out his tiger maple stash though.
