Looking for a pair of reasonably priced ( under 200) boots for my wife. They will primarily be used for mild hiking but she needs a stiffer sole than she has now as the ariat terrain is not stiff enough.
I am thinking level 2 based on the crispis I have. These boots will be used for 1-3 mile hikes with no backpack but over rocky terrain.
Thanks!!

Crispi but nothing under $200 anymore. Colorado II flex2.
I have a pair of Lowa's and I wouldn't walk out of the yard with them! They are a good garden light work hiker for me. Everyone is different. Buy once cry once.

I have at least 6 pairs of medium stiff day hiking boots and 4 pairs of heavy duty backpacking boots. My Keens are the ones I go to every time. (I wear a women’s 7.5, medium width)

For the money, Keen’s are decent especially for those not accustomed to serious boots. One of the few women’s hikers with a safety toe option, so I’ve had a few pairs for work. I believe the Targhee II is what I’ve had.

I bought a pair of Lowa Renegades a few years ago but have always struggled to like them. They feel like flimsy tennis shoes to me. Maybe the men’s version is better?

Otherwise, it’s been a very long time since I got a decent pair of boots under $200.
