Who all is headed North to Alaska fishing this year? 1st time ? Or general area and why do you like it.

This is a hunt year for me. Of course we will fish but not a fishing trip per say. We will fish for Char and Grayling in lakes and creeks. Depending on zone closures, weather and conditions we will likely be a few hours North, North East of Fairbanks

I will definitely miss June Salmon fishing. I love the solitude of the areas we go. No crowds.

Some guys I took a few years ago. Not fisherman trying Alaska for the 1st time.

Going again end of August. Like the trip because I get to hang out with 7 of my friends, catch (literally) a couple tons of fish, and get away from work. Plus, I dont have to apply for a gdamn tag and look at draw odds to do it every year.

I was signed up to go on the trip of a lifetime (fly in SE AK island lodge, and deep sea for halibut, salmon, rock bass) as part of a group but had to delay a year due to financial timing reasons… AKA divorce. :) Thankfully they let us apply our reservation deposits to next summer (2027).

We'll be doing our annual boys trip the end of June/1st of July. Been doing this for over 20 years now. I'm lucky enough to have a cousin with his own charter business so we stay in Homer every year and fish with him all other the Kenai Peninsula. One of our favorite trips of the year. I spend all year giving fish to friends and clients and try to time it so the freezers are empty this time of year.
