You can support Trump's bombing of Iran, favor a more aggressive defense policy, and believe in old school military standards, but any sane person should conclude that Pete Hegseth is not the right person to lead the Pentagon. He is not a competent or serious person. He would get on all fours and bark like a doggie if Trump asked him to.
Just compare Jim Mattis to Pete Hegseth and realize how much higher the bar should be.
Pete Hegseth acts how he thinks a "masculine alpha military leader" should act which is the complete opposite of what military leaders should be; silent and composed professionals who can absolutely destroy you while maintaining proper decorum. Real leaders don't need to remind everyone who's in charge and are capable of imparting legitimate change and projecting strength without making fools out of themselves. That is the actual problem. He's not a leader, he divides and makes a fool out of himself. He's a typical shyt leader who confuses leadership with loudership. He believes "acting hard" means you're competent.
The military is filled with power tripping guys like Hegseth who think being a loud azzhole who treats the troops like crap means they're "hard as nails". I'm convinced he was absolutely hated by his peers and troops when he was in the military. These guys normally don't make it above tactical level commands and there's a very good reason for that. Having served in combat and being a veteran doesn't make you a good and competent person, heck, I fit that description and I'm kind of an azzhole...
