My wife loves it when I tell her what she should have done differently. I'd lead off with "if you didn't drive so fast you wouldn't have gotten a speeding ticket" she'll appreciate the advice so much that you should then be ok to tell her about your elk tag. Trust me.

mine really likes if I tell her “you’re going to have to”
Such as “you’re going to have to slow down or you’re going to get another speeding ticket”
Which would be best followed by “and if you get many more I won’t be able to afford to go hunting” did I mention I drew an elk tag. Slow down.

One positive about having a Chinese wife. Just put mine on a plane to Sichuan and she will visit there 5 months through my deer season ~ December 1st. So this is a good time to tell her. For insurance took her on an outlet mall shopping spree before departure.
