Just got back from 4 days of armed hiking in Western Montana. Plenty more of that to come in October and November.

Been out a few times. couple chance encounters but nothing so far...taking the rest of archery season off and will be back at it on Oct 22nd. My freezer is pretty full from a very successful year last year so I'm in no hurry to kill anything.

I leave for Chama on October 22, hunt starts on Oct 29 (Colo OTC Bull-2nd Rifle).

Heading out tomorrow for Wyoming. Don't get to pull the trigger this year, but hopefully will get to process and pack up to three cows, fingers crossed. Then back home for our opener October 29. Good luck to all you hunters out there this fall and bring home lots of good eating.

This will be my first time hunting elk, so I’m going to enjoy myself, whether I get an elk or not, gonna take in the mountains and try to soak up every minute of it. Will be gone 15 days, and hope to enjoy every second of it!
