FOR Goose and ducks ?

I sure like Idaho. there seems to be plenty of birds around. Geese are hard to come by without private land or access... But ther are at least ducks to shoot on the rivers.

I heard alot about Louisiana and am heading there in Jan. Is the duck/goose hunting there as good as they say? or is there a lot better state ?

Moosie,

I think you have to decide if it is for Candians or White geese, and the same for ducks, Mallards or the other kind...

Idaho is actually a pretty decent waterfowl state, that nobody considers. As long as you want to shoot Canadians and Mallards.

I know of a "high mountain lake" that loads up with Snow Geese during Elk season, for about 2 days....

Oops, I didn't see this until now. Check the "Duck Woody" post in Fireside.

Oak,

Post it again over here... he'll never notice that he read the same post two times....

And with his 8973 posts, he is not concerned about "bandwith" issues...

If you want a variety of ducks, I would say Texas is about as good as it gets.

And geese

Montana is good for a decent variaty early in the season.

Mid-november theres a good flight of snows, but thats all about timing.

Tons of Canada geese and mallards all season, usually better late...if you know what does and doesnt freeze.
