What are your 2026 Outdoor Plans

Long-time lurker here finally chiming in. Plans for 2026 are pretty modest: bouncing some applications around the West to keep points building, a DIY public-land trip in the fall depending on which way the draws fall, and a lot of summer scouting weekends I keep promising myself I’ll actually take. Enjoying reading what everyone else has lined up — some of these slates are absurd in the best way.

Struck out in NM and KS. We'll see what the Wyo draw brings, if anything. My sons first year eligible for the draw and big game, so we're hopeful he draws something. He really wants to make an early season antelope, sage grouse, fishing trip. We've done something like that since he was four, and loves it.

Either way, birds are going to be a major target. Moisture will play a major role where I go, but Chukar out west and quail down south are a go! Ready to see some new country, and good dog work!

Plans have changed significantly.

Have 2 moose hunts in Montana in October, one with a good friend, followed by one with my Brother. My nephew also drew a MT breaks rifle bull tag and another good friend scored a real nice bull elk tag in Wyoming. A couple friends drew cow tags in Wyoming.

Most likely will have my Dad and Nephew hunting pronghorn here and 2 friends following that.

Sept. 18-November is packed...don't see many days of not hunting something in that time frame. December is even starting to get crowded.

My plans have changed from going to Colorado for 2nd season elk with my buddy but due to scheduling issues for him and his work we are not going to be able to go. I will be hunting primarily in WV for whitetail with some ideas of maybe trying my hand at hunting in PA or VA. Super bummed that I won't be heading to Colorado this year but will be next year barring anything crazy from happening.

With the cost of fuel and potential shortages this summer I wonder how this will effect hunting trips and family vacations? Im reading that Europe will be out of fuel by June and the US by mid July, thanks be to Trump and Kegsbreathe. Hopefully this doesnt happen, it would be really bad.
With my boy in his first year of college and myself working a lot Im only elk hunting for 3 days this fall and taking my daughter on a deer hunting on trip on a limited tag she drew again for a couple days. We do plan to get some local fishing in.

My Son in Law wants to see the Breaks. Since the deer are tanking, and the good bulls, we are in for a cow tag. Getting in shape cause this kid will kill an elk anywhere cow or bull. And I don't care how much fuel costs, we will go. mtmuley

Update from my previous post doing a 2nd rifle for elk in CO and maybe buy a OTC archery deer tag for AZ if I can get a friend to go with me lol.

MT resident deer and elk tags (hopefully drawing cow b and antelope tags). Applied for WY deer tag so that will hopefully take up the first week or so of October. Then 1st rifle Colorado elk. Blasting ducks and geese in December.

Good luck. That is the biggest issue for me in having someone being able to go with me. No one where I'm from thinks it's a good idea to hike miles on end to shoot a cow sized animal and throw it in a backpack and carry it out.

June/July Roe bucks England
Sept Red hinds Scotland
Oct Red stags Scotland 🤞🏻
Nov-Jan pheasants, partridge and duck

Alaska in August for sheep. Had some good luck and drew elk in AZ and WY. The plan is to add a tag or 2 from a couple return lists to round out the fall.

A bunch of whitetail hunting at home and maybe gator if I decide to cash in my points.

Only guaranteed hunt is Colorado 2nd Rifle in Unit 67. I will try to pick up a leftover cow tag somewhere or an OTC in Utah or Colorado. Still got a few draws left though
