What are your 2025 Hunting Plans

Think im just going to keep watching my 10 cell cameras go off without seeing a buck worth shooting

(Sort of in order)
ID mountain goat (daughter's tag)
ID archery gen deer (semi-serious...have a few interesting bucks hanging around near me that I'll try for if they hang around)
UT rifle cow elk (burned points due to price increase)
ID deer (twin daughters and wife)
UT rifle gen deer with buddies (burned points due to price increase)
ID cow elk (controlled hunt for me...2nd draw success)
ID cow elk late draw tag for sister-in-law's first hunt
(maybe) MO youth deer on a recent property acquisition
UT rifle doe antelope
NM aoudad
ID mountain lions (friends/family probably will not kill any this year, just run them)
Mixed in with local bird hunting

Obviously the main tag is the goat tag...if she fills that, the rest are bonuses. Our family eats a ton of meat.
5th hunt was UT gen deer. Our standard for this hunt was to take the first legal bucks we could as we only had a weekend to hunt. We went three for three and had a blast hanging out.Screenshot_20251026-011033.png

It has been a great season so far. Being able to see my kids succeed, and also hunting with buddies has been really rewarding.

Utah doe antelope hunt ended up going well. This is the third of my Utah Trifecta (cow elk, general deer, doe antelope). It was the silver lining to Utah doubling their license and tag fees effective 2026...I dumped points and hunted. The doe antelope was a surprise, however, as I'd drawn before and only had two points.

Also did some bird hunting with the family today with a pup out of my Brittany lines.Screenshot_20251109-172453.png

Won an Alberta Mule deer hunt with my dad Nov 1-8.
Meeting him in SLC for Wyoming Antelope Hunt he burned all his points on Sept 12-14.
At some point heading to Far NE CA for dad's mule deer tag Oct 4-19

2026 is the year I want to pack in somewhere with my Mustang Filly

How did the Alberta hunt go?

I have a Nevada Nonresident, any legal weapon, Antlered Mule Deer tag, Unit 241 - 245, October 5 - October 31.

Hunting the late part of the tag with a guide and holding out for something special.

Good luck 🍀 and happy hunting to all, TheGrayRider a/k/a Tom.
