"what a shame" or "what a waste"

I hear it all the time when a picture is posted of an animal that either got run over by a truck, died of natural causes, killed by a wolf, jumped off a cliff or what have you. It never fails that someone will say, "thats too bad he had to die that way", or "what a shame".

So the death of an animal is only worthy if it was killed by a hunter? Does death by bullet or arrow make it less shameful or what?

Clue me in... Dead is dead, I could care less if some Californian killed it or it fell through the ice on a lake.

Déjà vu...didn't you post this a while back?

I only think it's a waste if I didn't kill it. But it's a bigger waste than normal if a Texan kills it. No animal should have to die that way. ;)

Cali, not sure what got your rainbow shorts in a wad... You'll always be from California, and I'll aways be a Montanan, doesn't mater where I live. My comment about the kalifornian being offended must really hit home?

I may have asked about it when someone posted the 'what a waste' in a thread.
I can't remember what I had for dinner last night.

So you chose to leave Montana for Merryland? Why, if being "Montanan" is so important to you? Is there something offensive about Merryland that makes you get all defensive about it?

What comment about a Kalifornian being offended? Musta missed it.

I woudln't know... I'm not a Marylander.

Most Mayrlanders couldn't point out where Montana was on a map anyway.

You got it, thats why I have a MT map on my office wall, and pictures of MT all over the place.

What I do for work isn't found in MT, unless they move a few federal agencies there.

If you really had a clue you'd know that a majority of graduates have to leave MT to find work because of all the dickwad transplants that move in and retire and drive the property values up through the roof so much that the average guy has no chance at affording a place to live. Not to mention the jobs don't pay shit because all the out of state dick wads will work for nothing because they made thier fortune somewhere else (i.e. kalifornia) and will work for peanuts just so they can 'live the dream'.

I'm ashamed I fled MT... thats it. I'm pissed off that dickwad transplants pushed me out.

Back to the topic, I agree with Bambistew on this.

I get so sick of animals that arent killed by a hunter being "a waste".

I think, that in any healthy ecosystem, and in any healthy population of PROPERLY managed game...some should be eaten by predators, some should die of old age, and other such "wasteful" ways.

If bucks/bulls, etc. are dying of old age in a hunting unit...everything they need to survive is there and functioning properly.

Every critter in the woods does not have to be hanging in someones rafters.

So you traded a lifestyle you loved for the one you claim to despise? Are you going to take all the money you made by fleeing Montana and go back and drive the property values up higher for those who chose to stay and live their dream?

How is that any better than the "dickwad transplants?" Just because you were born there - a fact you had absolutely nothing to do with?

Calif. Hunter...once again...you dont live in MT, were not born in MT...and you dont have a clue. Ever looked at the average wage for a MT worker? Ever see the price of real-estate there? Were you around when RE prices went through the roof? Were you living in MT when the major industries went through the floor?

Yeah, thats what I thought. Sometimes its best to keep the yap shut on issues you really dont have a single damned clue about.

Bambistew, BTW, I agree with you. Pretty sad when I have to "flee" Montana to WYOMING because the wife and I can triple our income...

A big Bull or Buck found Dead in the Back country should be celebrated. It means that we are doing something right. A Bull or Buck smashed on the freeway should show us where we have failed. John
