Well, I never thought I would hear this

I'm not much interested in automatic weapons but the AA-12 is one ridiculously sick weapon.I'll take one,....and a auto-copter as well, please. Why waste money on 4th of July fireworks?

I like the 870's because they are bulletproof. We regularly use two that were purchased new in 1967 and we have only had to replace one action bar over the years. Lots of accessories.

I want to add a bit more to this...I have an 870 and a Mossberg 835 Turkey gun. I replaced the 24" ported barrel with a 28" non-ported for duck hunting. I continue to lean toward the Mossberg as it functions when it's frozen and dirty while the 870 has failed more than once in the same conditions. When the 870 failed to extract, I ended up driving the spent shell a little harder into the chamber with the next round which required taking the gun apart to get the shell out. As clunky as Mossberg shotguns are I feel they are the most reliable in that price range. Maybe consider a 20ga (or youth version) if your gal is recoil sensitive. Heck they even make a 410 version (or at least they did).

1 thing I would stay away from is a strictly pistol grip like some Hollywood shooter. Those are tough to handle when firing any kind of shell. I'd be willing to bet that it is next to impossible for a gal. A collapsable stock with a grip is what I would choose so she can shoulder the gun or fire from the hip like a gangster.

I've not shot a Judge 410/45 but heard they can be a handful when shot. That been said why not get both a shotgun and a Judge...it's not like they are gonna get any cheaper. ;)

I have the polymer taurus judge .410/.45lc - 2.5"

Fantastic weight over the steel anchor non poly version. My wife has shot this and has no problem with the .45 side though the .410 is not as liked by her.
Not sure this is a choice piece for the .410 side - excellent home defense .410 loads around 5-7 yards max for body size. Though going any further than 7 yards gets pretty sloppy for accuracy.
Triple buckshot is what we have for home defense load and like stated, for that purpose - it is like smacking an intruder with three .40 caliber size rounds in one shot or close to that... Heck slam the intruder through the wall with no problem.

Though for nailing a cat or other predator from 10 yards or so... well the .45lc will take care of business though the .410 it is not an option, IMO.

Great dual purpose home defense / back country / daily CC gun from my perspective.

Here is a decent youtube video I found if you can get over the russian accent. :)

I like the 870. Can not go wrong with such a long standing great shotgun and like Summit stated tons of accessories.

Nothing like blinding light and the sound of a slide racking to notify someone of being in the wrong place at the wrong time.
