VX3I line going away

Emailed Leupold to see about a VX3i that was out of stock. I was informed that they are no longer producing this line of scopes. Anyone heard word on what is going to replace it?
Was looking for a VX3i 4.5-14 x 40 CDS-ZL.

I'm in the dark so far. Usually the SHOT show is the new models reveal but it's canceled. I'm sure Randy might hear something before I do but who knows.

This makes me sad if true. I think the quality of the Vx3i is very good, especially for the price. Plus there were good sales on them once in a while. I’m sure the vx5 is awesome but starting to get out of my price range.

I just put one on my 7mm 08 back in the summer I have sure liked that scope so far.

Seems strange they would stop producing it but these days I dont get it. So it wouldnt knock my off my feet if it was true.

From what I've read it looks like they got rid of the cds and side focus models of the vx3i. I haven't come across anything sayig the whole line is going away.

It's just a guess but when the op emailed them about the cds model they were talking about no longer producing those specific models not the whole line.

As others stated I hope they don't completely scrap the line, it's a good bang for the buck option as a mid level line of scopes.

With the CDS-ZL available for the vx3i line at the same price point I'm not surprised they're dropping the regular CDS.
