First bird of the year down. Had a great hunt. Heard 5 or 6 birds off the roost but nothing real close. My buddy had 3 gobbling on out the ridge. After fly down they were pretty quiet. Sat as long as I could take it and started working my way out the ridge. My buddy had been real close but they hung up at 80 yards. I went and set up on a finger i know they like to use and did some blind calling. About 10:30 i heard something walking to my left. Made one soft yelp and he was on a string. Strutted in to my decoys and i shot him at a whopping 10 yards.

Very nice. I didn't hear a peep yesterday in all that wind

Yesterday was rough. I was within 70 yards of one roosted and could barely hear him gobble. Made it till 9 and called it a day. Very cold this morn but dead calm.
