I need a pair of 10x42 binoculars for my fishing boat. Nothing fancy or "high end". But I do not care for junk either. Ebay has always been my go-to for used glass, but now Ebay is full of mostly new glass and even the used ones are not for auction but rather for a fixed price that is often far too close to the new price. I suspect most are being sold by dealers, not private individuals.

Anyway, I would like to find a decent pair of used glasses. Maybe something that sells new in the $400-500 and used for $200-$250.

If you do not feel this is realistic, do not hesitate to say so. My feeling are almost always hurt, so they can't be made much worse :) :)

Just got a pair of used Nikon prostaff on Facebook marketplace for my wife. Paid $80. Might be an option to find something.

I only have experience with the Maven C1s and cheaper vortex, but I'd bet they would work just fine for a fishing boat set.

Watch Midway. They sometimes run really good sales. mtmuley
I’d second this. I got a pair of the old Burris Droptine 10x42 for $119 at Midway, which are highly regarded and very good binos (for their price point) that are normally around $300.

Apparently Burris did a “refresh” on the line and changed some things so Midway did deep discount on the old models (which are considered better).
