My wife and I both drew doe tags for units 69, 84, 85, 86, 691, 861 in Colorado. This will be our very first antelope hunt and from what I've seen on the plat maps it seems public land access around where the antelope will be is spotty and limited. We're planning on going scouting in a few weeks and are trying to gauge where in these units would be the best access? Does anybody have any experience in these units for public land antelope? Any tips on how we can best put meat in the freezer this year would be appreciated!

I don't have any antelope experience down there but I have hunted other species down there. The public access can be difficult. Don't shy away from asking permission to hunt. Especially since you have doe tags, most ranchers don't like the antelope destroying their fields. I have used this tactic on other hunts and it has proven to be successful.

Just bought my son a leftover buck tag for those GMU's, so were in the same boat. Hoping him being a junior hunter helps. Plan on going door knocking here real soon.
