Prior to 30 mins before sunrise, 1st Saturday of November, when every indiscernible shadow looks like a big wary buck, for years, I would text my Louisiana buddy @DRAFTSTUD and describe the show about to unfold. Most times it turned out to be a mesquite clump or a dawn moon shadow. Rarely, yet occasionally, the real deal, but I can't recall ever taking a whitey on opening morning....a pig now, that's different.

I really need to get back to to that fellowship ritual.

I texted @DRAFTSTUD the other day for the first time in a long time, but either his number changed or I'm persona non grata. ;)

Lots of does n bucks that need to be cleared out though, so still will be fun. Archery starting soon then the boys will get going. Still no joy on the draw hunts but crossing fingers for nilgai
Good luck out there gents

Won't be around for the opener but plan on chasing a muley in the panhandle sometime between Thanksgiving and Christmas this year.

I get firearms opener in both Indiana and Wisconsin this year again. I just don't get the same anticipation for anything else. FFS, here is Colorado there are so many damn, convoluted seasons for the different seasons that from Aug to late Jan there is different stuff going on all over. Indiana is not only home but truly part of me and my identity and I love being part things that are Hoosier. On the other hand, the Wisconsin opener is a WHOLE different ball of wax....I mean it is THE thing everywhere all over the state.....orange everywhere. I remember going to late breakfast on opening morning in WI the first time about 1000 and the whole diner was orange. Dudes of all descriptions, Mom's, Grandma's, hot girls, little kids.....you name it, everybody was hunting. I almost laughed out loud I was so happy.

Good luck!

Opening day here in Missouri and I’m heading out for my first sit on some nice and green beans.

Always had a flat tire and it’s 93 degree, but I’m happy as can be.

You are going hunting when there's moderating to do?

PEOPLE ARE TALKING TO EACH OTHER OUTSIDE OF HUNT TALK, MAN! BRING THE BAN HAMMER!

(good hunting!)
