I think you'll be fine by Thanksgiving. If you catch a few thin ones the hat market will still pay decent for them.Conservation agent called yesterday. She has a farmer with a beaver problem, talked to the guy on the phone and I am going to go check it out friday. I am ready to start getting some sets in the ground. For you guys who trap beaver do you think they will be worth trapping the week of thanksgiving? Last year was our first year trapping beaver so I am pretty new to it
The job is 30 min the other way from our main trapping area but the farmer said we could trap anything we wanted. So the plan was hit that area hard and then we can set all around the house when the boy comes home from Christmas break. Going to try and break 100 raccoons this year. And I figured we could use those beavers to practice on. we are going to try putting up our own fur this yearI think you'll be fine by Thanksgiving. Martin trapping is fun. We set up a Conibear box line. The line can be quiet for a while and then three Martin in a night. My son really wants to trap a Martin. We are going to try and get our first mink this year. I grew up trapping coons and muskrats. My boy started the predator thing and Im starting to like it too just not very good at it yet. But man those 20 coon days are fun.
If there is a Rural King store near any of you they are closing out the Duke 550 and 650 for $9.91 a trap! Unfortunately none near me I’d like to try some 650’s and would be all over them for that price
