Took the boy fishing

We drove my son Erik up in the Sierras to go trout fishing. He's never caught a trout before, only pan fish.

Getting started with some Salmon eggs

Once he was going, I moved down and started throwing a spinner. Before long, I hooked one, so I let it run to deep water, called Erik over and handed him the pole.
"Here, reel this in for me" (he didn't know there was a fish on till he started reeling)

Before long, he started getting bites on the eggs.

Up hiway 168, between Yosemite and Kings Canyon, at Dinkey creek. Lots of snow left all over the Sierras.

What a great time, A-con. Love the pics. Yeah, ditto on the snow...it's been the coldest and wettest spring since I've been here (over 12 years). The snow pack is awesome - ranging from 2 - 4 times what it typically is this time of year.

My son and I drove back from Arizona yesterday, having been there since last Thursday - shooting prairie dogs. It got awfully windy on Friday and Saturday afternoons, so hitting became a lot harder.
