Hmmm. Is hunting going to get trendy now? Can't imagine the hate mail he has to block on his FB account after that announcement.

I do agree with his message of being responsible for what you are eating. I just cooked the last of the walleyes last night, and we will be thawing some elk burger for grilling tomorrow night.

Now if I could just drink beer, I would grow my own hops and see if I could get some home brew going.

I think hunting becoming a bit more trendy is one of the few good things about the growing whole food/organic movement. Heck, Discovery has a show highlighting hunting and the eating of the critters!! Hunter's have always know the tastiness and healthfulness of wild meat and I think take that knowledge for granted. It doesn't get much healthier or organic that a wild animal.

In regards to Zuckerman, I wonder if an increase in the trendiness of hunting might be an unintended consequence of what has made him a bajillionaire. Most of use are completely connected to others all the time through electronic media. Hunting is about as great as an escape from this as imaginable and allows one to connect with things on a level that will never be emulated by electronics. Sort of a yin/yang thing...

Better than the Fois Gras boys and girls to be sure. I'm hopeful the locavore movement gets some more steam and we start adding folks to the hunting rosters, especially in states where hunter recruitment has severely declined.

If I was a bajillionare I'd do the chopping and the servant could do the plucking and cooking. As for big game, I'd be doing the blasting and my servant can do the packing or if he's a wimp I'll hire a helicopter and crane that sucker to my gold plated walk in freezer with surround sound and free wi fi, of course.
