It is sad. My grandpa lived with us for the last few years of his life, and some of the best memories I have are sitting on the back porch asking him questions about flying PBY-4 Catalinas in the South Pacific. He has been gone 16 years. I feel from that generation a warmth and robust vitality was imprinted on our country, and a chunk of our collective soul leaves with them when they leave us.
