The Great HT 2026 weigh in.

Ex-Lax will help with that! ;)
I have to work outside today, away from any facilities. I’ll just go back to be eating healthy and proportionate. There’s still a good chance I’ll have to shit in the woods but at least it won’t be splashing my backside when it hits gets the ground.

Up another 3 lbs in 9 days, slowing down. The 13 days prior to that I put on about 11 lbs, adjusting for water weight. Missed my first day of working out yesterday, but still hitting it hard. 2+ hr hike Friday, and 1 hr body weight strength training today.
Last time I maintained that weight was 2001 in HS wrestling.

Holding at 180. A week of sitting on my ass after my vasectomy doing nothing but eating popcorn and watching wrestling didn’t help my cause but it didn’t apparently hurt it either. Back to carnivore for a while to lean out a bit more

Down to 215 as of today started at 280+. I haven't been this low since I was probably 13 years old. I think I've got about 30lbs left to go but once June hits I am easing up on the weight loss to hammer putting on muscle before hunting season. Last fall I was moving better than ever but boy was I cooked from the amount of muscle I've lost over the last year.

198.2 this morning and I've been stuck around the 199 mark for the past 3 weeks. Lots of fruits and vegetables, healthy options for meals. Average daily calories the past week are 1566 and protein is a 123g daily average. Not out doing the gym rat thing but I don't quite sit on my ass all day. Weather has been hit or miss for doing things outside. Elliptical is getting boring but I don't know if doing laps around the yard would change anything. Another month left for the semaglutide before I have to renew. I guess it helps, I'm not craving food or snacks and lots of times I don't feel hungry when I know I have to eat something. The app helps me keep track of food categories and calories which makes me think about just what I eat. Dunno. Maybe I just need to shake up what I'm doing around the house.

You are killing it! What’s your goal?
160. I’m not built to be big. I do my best work lean. I was at 208 around Xmas and have never been more miserable. I’ve got a real messed up back and all those extra pounds were really compounding the pain. Feel so much better now. I’m not working out as much as I should, but I’m hesitant to hit anything too hard right now because I actually feel really good for the first time in a couple years.

Awesome! Glad to hear. Keep killing it!

163 this AM, down 1 lb from 2 weeks ago. I quit/modified my diet plan after 1 month that I was planning to keep up for 6 months before reevaluating.

One of the basic principles of weight
management I was banking on was high fat intake to help become full faster. Turns out I need to eat an enormous amount of fat before I actually feel full. I can easily down 4000+ calories a day.

Toned down my diet to be less strict, incorporating fruit, sweet corn, and whole milk. Could add some rice or potatoes down the road. Grain, added sugar, and vegetable oil are not zero, but combined account for less than 10% of my total calories.

Crazy, stressful week. Only got a couple workouts in. Thankful to have turkey and morel season just kicking off.

Here’s a twist on the usual annual weight loss thread.

I put on about 18 pounds from Thanksgiving through yesterday. The family is all gone now and the feasting is over.

My youngest son got hired in 2025 as a USPS mail carrier. He is walking never less than 14000 steps a day. He has lost 25 pounds in his first 90 days. He eats whatever he wants.

I am inspired to do the same. I will begin walking my usual 6 mile loop to and around the school section near me. Every day. Rain or shine. I’m not 33, so I doubt I will hit the eat whatever I want zone. How cool would that be.

I will post a photo of my weight on my digital scale on New Year’s Day. I will reply to my own post weekly with my new numbers.

My goal is to be 230lbs by the August 2026 opener. 200-210 by the 2027 opener.

Anyone want to play along?
Great job putting your plan together! Man, the holiday candy, and treats, and feasting is a killer. Here's to a healthier, leaning hunt season for all of us 👊
