In 2006, I spent 75 days in Texas on wildfire assignment, and another 30 days in 2008. It is unreal how fast those fires move.

Great pics!! It'll be interesting to see some of that country in a year or so. I'd think that area is more of a monsoonal precip regime. If so, it's quite a long while before their "rainy" season...

Those are some great photos! RIP for the Firefighter who lost his life and prayers for his family. I fought on the Storm King fire here in CO where 14 firefighters lost there lives. It looks like it is the start of a very long fire season for you guys in TX. Be safe down there!
