Here are 3 from my elk hunt. I'll go back later this month to try again.


A steep, rocky, brushy slope. I bumped an elk herd into this.


Some mornings were chilly.


I followed the elk sign to the timberline. Found great scenery but no elk up there.

I was a little spooked when I looked up on my hike down off the mountain one night and seen about 15 dots following each other across the sky in a perfect line. I guess it was musks Satellites. Looks like streaks in the pics, but it was dots real time. View attachment 294888

7 birds flushed by black dog, 5 missed shots by fat man, 13 ticks removed & time for a nap.

Went to the gun range and after sighting in rifle, decided to fling a few arrows at the archery range. I was having trouble hitting the target for some reason, will have to try sighting bow in again tomorrow, I have a few does I have to get cut up for the freezer first.

He's been working at this for 5 years now, putting in a lot of time, things never quite lining up despite a bunch of close calls. He passed on a longer shot earlier tonight because he just wasn't confident looking through the scope. But when another deer appeared a few minutes later, at 100 yards, he made a nice shot on his first ever whitetail. Proud poppa day!
