It's hot all across the country, even Alaska has been warm. Looked up my hill for elk this morning, yep it snowed over night. (North east Oregon)

From time to time Mother Nature gives our place a good cleansing and drink during the drought years. Fortunately we usually see it coming and move items out of the West Gallatin River floodplain. One year we tied ropes on the fence and the grandkids went surfing.

Just 4 dudes chillin' on a hill. In route to pick some morels.

The real bummer is that development is flying up the hill below them (to the right of the pic), in another 10 years there will be 1,000s of homes (ok maybe only hundreds) within 1/2 mile of this spot. Currently there's only 1 within 2-3 miles.

Hiking up a small finger canyon while setting targets for an upcoming PRS match we're hosting and found this old trap. I know nothing about trapping, but is this something probably used on coyotes?
