It happens a lot. Only need to film it once. mtmuleyVideo lessons for the wife for Christmas?
I’ve lost probably 50 saplings in the last 20 years to elk. They bust my irrigation heads too when drinking water. Tear rocks walls down climbing into landscaping, etc. My property looks like Auschwitz now with all the electric wire.I like to watch them other places. I chose to live where I do, but the damn things killing my trees and other landscape is a PITA. Luckily I can buy a cow tag OTC to put one of the offenders in my freeezer every Fall. mtmuley
Wouldn't ever kill a bull on my place. Illegal anyway. Cow, not a problem. Until recently short range weapons were the rule. I used a 12 gauge. mtmuleyI’ve lost probably 50 saplings in the last 20 years to elk. They bust my irrigation heads too when drinking water. I don’t shoot elk on my property but know the temptation after coming home from elkless days to see a bull in my driveway.

I shot a whitetail buck on my property years ago. Not going to do it again. The mountain ones are a lot more fun. mtmuleyA long, long time ago, my dad asked an old timer when the best time to get a deer was. His answer was, “I shoots them when I see ‘em.” I have always thought that was a pretty good philosophy, assuming legal (I am not sure the old timer adhered to that last part). I wouldn’t think twice about shooting a yard/field bull.
Historical GOLD!Not taken on Sunday, but a day of work-appropriate fondling.
Hundreds of 50+ year old maps and surveying/photogrammetry equipment from the World War 2 era.

I had an old poacher tell me once, “ the only month of the year that a deer doesn’t taste good, is the month you don’t shoot one “ !!A long, long time ago, my dad asked an old timer when the best time to get a deer was. I get them too. Pests. mtmuley
I got a nice picture of some trees Friday. Trees where 2 seconds before the 3 6x6 bulls I was trying to get ghosted. Hoping against hope for some moisture this summer and during spring antler growth time.Pests I like to watch.
I actually burned a few pages of old aerial photos this week. They were highlighted and annotated a lot like yours. Not taken on Sunday, but a day of work-appropriate fondling.

Today's winner!
Working for the Forest Service, at one point we had to move to a new office. The problem was that we had a 5000+ sq. ft. warehouse full of surveying and engineering stuff that had piled up from day one. Where we were moving had very little storage space for us to use so I was put in charge of cleaning out the old warehouse. Man, there was some great old obsolete equipment in there. Most in pristine condition. It all had to be auctioned off but a lot of the good stuff seemed to grow legs and walk out when nobody was looking. I was tempted myself, but I guess I am just too chicken. Not taken on Sunday, but a day of work-appropriate fondling.
