Great photo! I don’t know what happened to the one living at my place. It wasn’t a lack of gophers.Only one canid can make a ground squirrel look huge. Forgot to remove that damn mosquito.

It’s Sunday again and I was out in the Coast Range running with the Roosevelts again like almost every Sunday
This is why spend as much time in the off-season as I can even though I’ve hunted this area before the Coast Range is constantly changing due to logging and onx and google are sometimes 2 years behind, my position on ONX looking right, The map shows nothing but roadless forest
but this is my view
And in the distance I see another clear cut not on ONX,
I like trying to find these hidden clearcuts before they show up on Google or ONX for Blacktail or Elk hunting , People that use only google maps will not go into an area because They don’t think there’s anything there , And neither of these clearcuts I was in today you could glass from another ridge , so they were hidden by the trees and topography, you could hunt in area in the fall and then they Log it a month later and then you’ll find out it’s been there for two years and you didn’t even know because theres no new satalite maps for google and ONX to use, Like the two clear cuts I found today
1st group I saw was over 1000 yds always , 5 to 6 cows and 1 or 2 calves from what I could glass , I was able to get four together in one picture
then I found 2 bulls in a different cut I was standing in they fed right to me , They were just a couple hundred yards away when I backed out and headed back to the truck
And then walking my way out on the side of a logging road Almost completely buried in mud I saw a piece of metal sticking up and I’m like what the hell is that, Did not think I would be finding a California license plate to a motorcycle from 25 years ago so if your motorcycle was stolen in California 25 years ago all I found was the plate sorry I can’t help you with the rest

And for those on hunttalk that are not familiar with the coastal rain forest jungle that we live in this is why you pretty much stick to logging roads 98% of the time and you don’t try to cross country to get places, It’s thicker than the bush on an 80s porn star
It’s literally like 5 to 10 yards visibility and horrid to work through, Only during elk season will I even consider it
although when the elk come through, it’s not hard to find there sign , this trail was hours old
